Ellen Driscoll is a Professor of Sculpture at the Rhode Island School of Design. Her work includes installations such as The Loophole Retreat at the Whitney Museum at Phillip Morris, New York, NY, 1991, and Passionate Attitudes at Threadwaxing Space, New York, NY, 1995. She has participated in public art projects such as As Above, So Below for the new Grand Central Terminal North, Mum’s the Word, at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, Boston, MA (1998), and Ahab’s Wife, a theater production done as part of the International Puppet Festival at Snug Harbor Cultural Center, Staten Island, New York. Ms. Driscoll has been awarded fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, Anonymous Was a Woman, Harvard University’s Bunting Institute, the Massachusetts Cultural Council, and the New York Foundation for the Arts. Her work is included in major private and public collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Whitney Museum of Art.
